I'll stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former twice unified title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly happening.
